The fact that bloggers are starting to make some serious dough through channels like Instagram is nothing new. With some of the biggest players in the industry now making a 6 figure salary from their chosen careers, it’s no surprise that everyone wants a piece of the pie.
That is where Looker comes in. Removing the politics of who follows who, how many followers everyone has and who likes and comments on what, Looker strips back the clutter and allows anyone to share, and monetize, their looks.
Where style committees such as ‘Like to Know It’ are invite only with a detailed application process, Looker doesn’t care how many followers you have or even if you have a blog/ glamorous Instagram feed at all. Anyone can join and post their outfit photos, and everyone will earn commission on any sales that their photos produce.
As a huge Insta fan I was really surprised by how much I liked the app when I downloaded it! Having first thought it’d be something i’d just explore a little and then eventually delete when the dreaded ‘Out of Storage’ message got all up in my face, I’m surprised to say I’ve found a new app suitable for a long term relationship. It’s so easy to use and when you want to tag an item to make it shoppable, it just opens up the brand’s website so you can select it in the same way you would shop. No need to faff around with external apps or links and what not!
One feature that I absolutely love is the ability to filter and search for looks based on people who have a similar body type or frame as me. Insta is great but being a ridiculous 4ft 10, half of the outfits on my feed look amazing on the super tall bloggers wearing them, but on a short AF girl with thick ass gym legs – maybe not so flattering. The app let me filter looks by the girls’ heights and body shapes so I could view looks that i’d actually be able to wear (and look fly in).
Finally there is something quite chill about the looker app. I feel no pressure to worry about commenting and interacting, I don’t need to worry about how many followers I have or what comments are left on my looks as no one can see this info – all I have to do is post my outfits and i’ll earn the commission I deserve if my looks convert! Crazily enough, I earned my first commission just minutes after I posted my first look!
If you wanna join me on Looker, or shop this look, you can download it on the App store and on Google Play or through this link.
