Last weekend I was fortunate enough to be invited to Tarshish ; a turkish rooftop restaurant in Wood Green. To say I made the most of their generosity would be an understatement. I think the remnants of my food baby are still hanging around today…
Having spent at least the first hour of the afternoon running around the three floors of the restaurant being as basic as possible and taking pictures of all of the plush interiors, with fellow blogger Angee, we had more than worked up an appetite.
We were all lucky (& greedy) enough to try nearly all of the starters on the menu. I have always loved mediterranean food but honestly, everything was delicious! My favourites would have to be the baked goats cheese, chicken croquettes and the scallops. Everything was beautifully presented and perfectly flatlayable. For the main course, I had a chicken shish. It was good, but I wasn’t as impressed as I was by the starters – maybe because I made quite a boring choice.
Now onto the important stuff – the drinks! Day drinking is not one my usual hobbies, but they were offering so it would have been rude not to accept right? I had a passionfruit martini which was SHAMAZING. Literally, probably one of the nicest cocktails I’ve ever had. I’m pretty sure I have the palette of a child when it comes to alcohol so this was perfect because it didn’t taste strong, just wonderfully fruity – and I mean real fruit , none of that fake syrup shit. The danger of this though is that it goes down way too easily, and if you are pint sized like me, you may find yourself drunk at a dinner table with a bunch of people you are meeting for the first time – who are much better at handling their alcohol than you.
Despite really enjoying the food, I think my fave moment of the event was being stood up , halfway through asking a fellow blogger to pose her hand for a flatlay, when I looked up and realised every single other person there was contorting themselves in all kinds of ways, all in the name of getting the perfect shot – whilst their food was slowly going cold! It felt like home.. hahaha.
